Donald McDonald is the National Field Director of Faces & Voices of Recovery. Donald’s greatest joy is empowering communities through education and advocacy – teaching communities about the recovery-oriented systems of care they deserve and the role language and story-telling play in dismantling discriminatory barriers to wellness.
Outside of education and advocacy, Donald has a passion for Recovery Coaching – as a peer, he enjoys opportunities to support individuals and families in and seeking recovery. Donald strongly believes that a spirit of authentic peer recovery will be the key to Emerald’s success.
A U.S. Navy veteran, former preschool and high school teacher, “jazz” trumpet player, and pie lover, Donald McDonald is a man thriving in sustained recovery from severe mental and substance use disorders since October 12, 2004.
