Chief Actuary for Brighthouse Financial
Meredith Ratajczak is the Chief Actuary for Brighthouse Financial. She is responsible for valuation, reinsurance negotiation, experience study development, in force business management, and corporate projections for U.S. Retail. She will be the appointed actuary for MetLife Insurance Company USA, First MetLife Investors Insurance Company, New England Financial Life Insurance Company, MetLife Reinsurance Company of Delaware and MetLife Reinsurance Company of South Carolina.
Ms. Ratajczak joined MetLife as a consultant in 2015 to assist with various reinsurance related projects. After MetLife announced its plans to separate the U.S. Retail business, she joined the Brighthouse separation team to assist with standing-up the actuarial organization for Brighthouse Financial.
Prior to joining MetLife in 2015, Ms. Ratajczak served as Chief Actuary, Interim CFO and ultimately CEO for the U.S. Operations of Scottish Re Group Limited during the period 2006 through 2015. In these roles, she was responsible for inforce management, regulatory relationships, financial modeling, planning and budgeting, expense monitoring and control, statutory and GAAP reporting from a valuation perspective, and transaction management and execution. Prior to that, she was a Consulting Actuary with Milliman from 1987 through 2006 and an Equity Partner from 2001 through 2006. In this role, her areas of expertise included mergers & acquisitions, demutualization, statutory and GAAP valuation, product development and pricing and asset and liability management.
Ms. Ratajczak is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of The American Academy of Actuaries. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Pennsylvania State University.
