Emerald School of Excellence held their 3rd Annual Winter ONEderland Fundraising Gala on Friday, February 21st, 2021. To protect the health and safety of our team and supporters, the event was a Live Virtual Event. Over 150 people attended the event virtually from across the country.
The lineup of entertainment included Jazz musician Stefan Kallender and a fireside chat with Emeral School of Excellence students. The event had a virtual live and silent auction with an appearance from auctioneer, Randy Ligon. Special guest speakers included Sasha Coles, Executive Director of Archway Academy, and Shola Richards, author and speaker. From these speakers, we learned more about unity and the concept of Ubuntu, an African philosophy that believes in our shared humanity.
At last year’s event Emerald School of Excellence raised $130,000. This year we were able to raise around $145,000. Our school is so incredibly grateful for the continued generosity and support of our community. Thank you to our Board of Directors, volunteers, amazing event sponsors, and everyone who helped make this event possible.
It is because of your support that we will be able to expand into our second wing. These new classrooms will give Emerald School of Excellence the capacity to serve up to 50 students in recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders.
