Emerald School of Excellence Holds Second Annual Winter ONEderland Gala

Friday, February 21st, 2020 was Emerald School of Excellence’s second annual Winter ONEderland gala at The Resort at Ballantyne. There were over 220 guests, 14 amazing sponsors, engaging guest speakers, and local families that shared their stories of hope and recovery.

The evening included special guest speakers including keynote speaker Greg Williams, live music by Matt Butler, a three-course dinner, the Emerald School message and mission, a silent auction of some amazing artwork, and a live auction with a variety of items ranging from Legacy Scholarships, our Brick Campaign, vacations, special experiences, and more.

Thank you to Matt Butler for sharing your beautiful music and to Greg Williams for being our knowledgeable and engaging keynote speaker. Thank you to Janelle Mortimer, Malena Long, and Anita Waldman for sharing your stories and speaking to every attendee straight from the heart.

Last year we raised $80,000. This year, Emerald School of Excellence raised over $130,000. The amazing programming, scholarships, and opportunities for our youth in recovery are now possible because of the outpouring of community support at our gala this year! Year two at the Carolina’s first and only recovery high school will not only be possible but will reach even more families and that is such a blessing.

Thank you everyone for your ongoing support, for believing in the need for a Recovery High School and the benefits it brings to the community, and for loving us and embracing us since August 2016. The help and support our community has shown to us at our second annual gala will allow us to expand both our program offerings as well as provide scholarship opportunities to more students.
